First piece, on thick board (7¾ x 7") consisting of the artist's original, first hand drawn (5s face value) mock-up sketch on printed background, black photo essay and issued stamp from souvenir sheet all tied by first day cancels. Some creamy toning from prior storage. Fine to Very Fine. Second piece a Buffalo NY free frank cover from Elbridge Spaulding, Congressman and "Father of the US Green backs" to a Moses Stebbins in 1863 CD Black and Black Free. Rare. Valuable collection of 2000+ stamps and souvenir sheets housed in 10 albums loaded with better items such 1896 and 1906 Greece Olympic sets complete both mint (second set 3d with gum thin and 25l no gum) and used, 1964 Russian Green souvenir sheet, 1957 Dominican Republic miniature sheets with flag error, both perf and imperf, one with color omitted (we have never seen this unlisted item before), good 1964 issues with Albania and Dubai, many good imperfs including souvenir sheets, non-Scott listed items and much more. Includes Austria, Italy, Constantinople and others with many varieties of markings with scarce boxed marking types, oval markings, red seals, Rastel perforations, slits, cholera documents, the only known disinfection certification (two double ringed illegible cachets) known from Cagliari on 1837 folded letter and much more.
